Week # 6 in China

Work- Work has been very busy and rewarding this week. Monday started doing a physical inventory for our Shanghai location, but the rest of the week was spent in our Buji, Shenzhen office. Our CEO was in the Asia Pacific office this week, so it was great to catch up with him on our state of the business. I liked hearing about the brutal Minnesota weather this week. Sorry guys! Our SAP software implementation is going very well and is keeping everybody busy. Many things accomplished this week.

Personal- Robin is home from another surgery and is on the long road to recovery. My heart goes out to her as she battles breast cancer, but she is a fighter. Christmas is coming and so are the kids. They arrive in China on Sunday night to spend 3 weeks with Dad for Christmas break. YEAH! The apartment is ready for them. I will be playing another round of golf on the Annika course at Mission Hills. It has been reported to me that Mission Hills is the largest golf course in the world. They have 12-18 hole courses and 3 clubhouses. I will take lots of pictures again, as always. Hope all is well in every body's lives at home. the weather is great here. 70-80 degrees everyday. the air pollution is worse, since it is very dry this time of year. You can see many of my pictures appear overcast, but it is not. More after the weekend.

Dinner with a Friend

I met Stephen in 2006 at Michigan State University. We were in the Master's program together. He is from Shanghai and when I was coming to China, he said make sure you call if you get to Shanghai. I did and we had a nice Shanghai style dinner.

Shawn we had a beer at a Paulaner German Pub!

Shanghai Skyline

This one is 88 floors!

Just completed right next door is 108 floors, and under construction next to this one is the 138 floor Shanghai tower. it is still a hole in the ground at this time. Big, bigger, biggest.

Off to the Temple

Making a blessing!

Shanghai Shopping

Built to look like an old village, it draws the tourists.

My new Shanghai friend. "Jerry" the driver. This guy was great.

Next Stop an Ancient Shanghai Village

All the grown children have left this little village that is over 500 years old. They left for the city and the locals fear that as the older population dies this village of 10,800 people will not survive.

A local favorite. Pork Hocks.

Tofu street vender.

A local artist. I asked him to make me looker thinner. Yeah right is what I think he said.

Trip to Shanghai

I was in Shanghai over last weekend for work and got to go sightseeing. The day started walking around the Oriental Land Hotel grounds while waiting for the car.
